History
In the year 1991 the Medical
Librarians at Aga Khan University formed a ‘Journal Club’ to keep
each other informed of latest developments through reading latest literature
and sharing information. More and more medical librarians showed interest
and participated in its deliberations. It was decided by consensus in
1999 to change it to an Association of Medical Librarians. The key personnel
instrumental in the foundation of MELAP were Ms. Azra Qureshi, Syed
Ahmed Naqvi, Mr. Khurshid Alam, Mr. Moinuddin Khan and Mr. Shakil Ahmed
Khalil.
MELAP conducted its 51st
Meeting on May 30, 2009.
